WOODWARD BOOMERS

Coach: JACEY DAUPHIN

24-11

OUTLOOK
Class 4A softball should be on alert for the Woodward Boomers. “We are looking forward to continuing the growth from last season,” head coach Jacey Dauphin said. “With a year of experience under last year’s freshmens’ belts, great leadership from our upperclassmen and a few incoming freshmen we hope to make an impact, we look forward to working hard and continuing to get better.” Returning seniors Zoey Roberts (Sr., 1B/OF) and Bryleigh Douglas-Fischer (Sr., C) will be expected to provide quality leadership in the dugout. With Douglas-Fischer suffering an untimely injury, a freshman previously waiting in the wings could make her debut sooner than expected. Zoey Smith (Fr., C) is game-ready. “With an injury to our starting catcher, this incoming freshman may play a big role in our success this year,” Dauphin said. “[We’re] looking to get her some time behind the plate and at the plate.” Lexi Mendell (Jr., 2B), Karlee Kidd (Jr., OF), Holly Wilson (Jr., OF/1B), Adelyn Friend (Jr., P/Uty), Yadira Reyes (Jr., Uty) and Kamber Clark (Jr., Uty) make up the team’s junior class; Kaleigh Mills (So., P/Uty) and Bailey Nelson (SS) are the team’s sophomores. The Boomers’ opening game at Clinton is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 13, followed by the Woodward Tournament on Aug. 15-17. The Boomers will play their first true home game against Bethany on Aug. 20. Their final home game will be on Sept. 24 against Texhoma-Goodwell.
