The Lady Wildcats are coming off of a spectacular season where they ended with a 26-3 record and brought home the Class A State Championship trophy. But, if they want to have a chance to repeat, head coach Brady Hamar knows that they will need players to step up.
“We have a chance to be really good, but we will be a little younger and a little less experienced,” said Hamar. “We lost five seniors off last year’s team that we will have to replace with some younger kids who are hungry and looking for their opportunity. Overall, we are excited to get this season going.” Two returners and key players this season for Seiling are Teagan Hamar (5-7, Sr.) and Keirstin Briggs (5-11, Sr.).
They will both be starting for their third year in a row, they both played major roles as freshman as well. They have won state championships their first three years of high school basketball and will have to both play a bigger role in scoring this season. Lyndlea Nichols (6-0, Jr.) played big minutes as a freshman and sophomore and she is expected to have a big year as a junior. A new face on the team this season will be Baylee Chain (5-6, Fr.). She is a freshman who can really score and looks to have a big season as well.
Kadence Griffin (5-10, Jr.) is going to play a big role this season. She does all the little things, is a great rebounder, and gets on the floor for all loose balls. A player that is looking to make an impact this season is Paige Coons (5-11, Sr.). She has stuck it out all these years to finally earn herself major playing time as a senior. She is a great kid who deserves recognition. Kimber Manuel (5-6, So.) will look to get time on the court and help her team in whatever way she can.
