
Chris Elerick – New head football coach at Enid High

Enid Public Schools hired Chris Elerick as the new head football coach and assistant athletic director. He began his duties February 2.
Elerick graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Education degree. Elerick began his coaching career at Piedmont Public Schools in 1996. He moved to Yale Public Schools in 1997. In 2005, Elerick moved to Stroud. He built a successful program over the next 15 years with the Tigers. The next head coaching job was at Drumwright Public Schools where he has been since 2023. His overall career record as a head coach is 216-88.
Enid Superintendent Dr. Dudley Darrow said, “We are extremely excited to have Coach Elerick leading the EHS football program. Coach Elerick has tons of successful coaching experience and is well respected among his peers across the state. We are very optimistic about our future.
EHS Athletic Director, Robb Mills, echoed the Superintendent’s comments saying, “Coach Elerick will bring a lot of success, experience, and enthusiasm to Plainsmen football. I am excited for him to get started building for the future.”
Coach Elerick said he was “excited about the opportunity and ready to get to work with our athletes, our staff, and the community.” Elerick went on to say he was looking forward to building a program at EHS by laying a solid foundation. He has a “big to do list.” His focus is on the staff, a calendar, a schedule and getting to know the players at every level.
Elerick is a member of the Oklahoma Coaches Association and the Oklahoma Football Coaches Association. He enjoys presenting at annual conferences on how to build programs and inspire teams. Coach Elerick works hard to help players find opportunities at the next level.
Elerick is married to Keri and they have two grown twin boys, Drew 24 and Grant 24. Drew
coaches at Cashion and Grant, married to Noah, coaches at Dewey.
