Hennessey’s Hunter Weber – Presented by Integris

The winter break was supposed to be a time for rest, but for Hunter Weber, it took an unexpected turn.

An unexpected accident during vacation left him with a broken ankle, sidelining him from the basketball season he had been looking forward to.

“It’s tough,” Weber said. “I love basketball, and missing my senior season has been really hard. But I’m still showing up for my team however I can.”

A three-sport athlete at Hennessey High School, Weber has made his mark in football, basketball, and baseball.

While basketball is his favorite sport, football has opened unexpected doors for his future. Despite playing just one season, Weber earned multiple college offers as a tight end, a testament to his natural athleticism and dedication.

“I never expected football to be my way to college,” he said. “But I had a great coach who helped guide me, and I just gave it my all.”

Weber’s athletic journey began on baseball, a sport he picked up as a child. He later found a love for basketball in eighth grade before deciding to try football in his senior year. Now, as he works through rehab, his focus is shifting toward baseball season—his final chance to compete at the high school level.

“This baseball season is huge for me,” he said. “I want to go out strong and make the most of every game.”

While his competitive spirit drives him, Weber credits his baseball coach, as one of his biggest influences.

“He’s more than a coach—he’s like a friend,” Weber said. “He’s always there for us, on and off the field.”

Balancing sports and academics has been a challenge, but Weber’s discipline has helped him maintain strong grades, even while managing multiple sports. Now, with his recovery progressing, he’s eager to get back to full strength and finish his senior year on a high note.

“I just want to compete,” Weber said. “I want to give it everything I’ve got.”
