The Lady Eagles were bitten by the injury bug last season, which had an impact on the season. With the injured players back to playing health, head coach Brian Richardson looks for his squad to have an improved season. “We were hit hard with injuries last season,” Richards said. “Senior Katie Kennedy will be back from a torn ACL along with junior Emily Goff, who also suffered an ACL injury.
We also lost junior Amiliey Tuell in Regionals last season to a torn patella tendon and she is also back and healthy. We return four starters along with Kennedy and Goff, so we should have plenty of game experience.” Kennedy (5-6, Sr.) has amazing balance and can score in a number of ways. She possesses an unbelievable work ethic, and as good as she is as a player, she is an even better person and student at school. Emma Copeland (5-6, Jr.) ran the point for Hennessey last season and made the team hard to press. She is also an extremely good three point shooter.
A really good scorer, Star Torres (5-8, So.) steadily improved every game last season. She is a fierce competitor and led the team in steals and deflections last season. Ally Painter (5-8, Jr.) stepped up to be one of the team leaders as a sophomore last season. She currently helps coach the seventh and eighth grade girls and is a great role model for the younger girls in the program. Other members of the team looking to make contributions this season include Tuell (5-6, Jr.), Goff (5-7, Jr.), Clare Munroe (6-0, So.), Joshlyn Roman (5-6, Jr.), Kallie Rapp (5-1, Jr.), Leilie Vadder (5-7, Jr.), Brylee Seiger (5-6, Fr.), Ivana Rodriguez (5-5, Fr.), Makenna Cheney (5-5, Fr.), and Addi Huntsberger (5-7, Fr.).
