Covington-Douglas’ Rylee Thomas – Presented by Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma

Senior softball player at Covington-Douglas High School, Rylee Thomas plays second base and right field for CDHS. She’s also a member of the FFA chapter at school thanks to some encouragement from a family member.

“I first became involved in FFA in 8th since that was the first year, I would be able to join,” Thomas said. “My dad was the one to help me get involved into FFA.”

Thomas is involved in many activities with FFA including showing livestock.

“I am involved in livestock judging, showing, and seed identification. I show lambs,” Thomas said. “What I enjoy most is the people I meet and the opportunities that you can get from being involved in FFA.”

The senior said students of all grades should consider joining FFA.

“Joining FFA can be a great experience! I’d say get involved and take advantage of all the opportunities it offers, like leadership skills and networking. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to meet new friends who share similar interests. If you’re into agriculture or want to learn more about it, definitely go for it,” said Thomas. Thomas not only plays softball, but she runs track and is a member of FCCLA. Thomas plans to attend Oklahoma State University and pursue a degree in Veterinary Science.
