ents that allows them to get a start on their post high school education. Carrington Kline is in her senior year at Alva High School and she says that she is learning a number of skills that she can use once she graduates.
“Not only does Northwest Tech offer a financial class, but we have a period to work on scholarships, learn interviewing skills, and other important factors,” she said. “I first heard about tech through their introduction programs. It was my sophomore year that I truly decided to go there due to having a blast with the activities and needing the science credits.”
Kline is in the Biomed II program and loves what the program offers.
“I got interested during the biomedical class activity where we had to find a patient zero, and I’ve stuck with it,” Carrington said. “The teachers were beyond friendly and after two years of attending Biomed I and II, my classmates and teachers are like family now.”
For anyone that may be on the fence about attending Northwest Tech, Carrington urges them to give it a shot.
“I would say that if they’re interested, they should absolutely try it. The classes are engaging and interactive and it’s a friendly environment where they treat you like an adult.”
As a student at Alva High School, Kline is a member of a number of groups and organizations. She is on the Speech and Debate Team, ESports, Art Club, Health Occupations Students of America, and Media Productions.
Throughout her life, there have been people that have had an influence on her, but she says that there is one person that has been the most influential.
“My biggest role model and influence is my mother,” she said. “She has always encouraged me to work my hardest and to always be kind to others. She’s always there for me and I love her for it.”
After she graduates high school, Carrington plans to go to college to earn a doctorate degree in Psychology Prelaw and later to pursue a career as a criminal psychologist.
