9 Questions with Kynli Patterson – Cherokee Girls BBall
VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Cherokee HS?
Patterson: My favorite part of being a student-athlete at Cherokee High School is building unforgettable memories with my teammates. I also love how our community always shows up to cheer us on and support us every step of the way.
VYPE: What grade are you in and what position do you play?
Patterson: I am a senior and I play the 4 and 5.
VYPE: When did you start playing basketball?
Patterson: I started playing basketball in third grade.
VYPE: What is your favorite pre-game and post-game meal?
Patterson: My favorite pre-game meal is a subway sandwich. My favorite post-game meal is chips and queso.
VYPE: Which teammate always impresses you on the court?
Patterson: Our point guard, Veronica Castro, always impresses me with her incredible ball-handling skills and court vision. Her ability to see the floor and create plays allows me and my teammates to find opportunities and make big plays together.
VYPE: Who do you look forward to playing against this season?
Patterson: I’m really excited to play Medford because it’s always a fun, competitive game. It often comes down to the wire, which makes it even more exciting to play.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
Patterson: After I graduate, I plan on attending Oklahoma State University and majoring in Nutritional Sciences. I then plan on going to medical school.
VYPE: What is the toughest gym to play in on the road?
Patterson: The toughest gym to play in is definitely Kremlin because both teams bring a ton of fans. The games are usually close, and the crowd gets so loud it feels like the whole gym is shaking.
VYPE: What part of your game is most improved coming into this season?
Patterson: I’ve been working on improving my post moves and developing the ability to make a move and score from anywhere on the court.
