Woodward’s Bryleigh Douglas-Fischer – Presented by Great Plains Bank

Woodward High School senior Bryleigh Douglas-Fischer is a multisport athlete playing basketball, soccer, and softball for the Woodward High School Boomers. In basketball, Bryleigh plays the position of center, in soccer, Bryleigh is a center back, and in softball Bryleigh plays catcher/utility. Many would consider Bryleigh a veteran of sports, having played basketball since age 8, soccer since age 3, and softball since age 8.”

Bryleigh is proud to represent her community and school every time she plays sports. Bryleigh proclaimed, “It means the world to me to show that I am proud to be a Boomer, and show the younger grades below me that they also should be proud.”

In regards to her biggest role model, Bryleigh looks towards family. Bryleigh stated, “My mom and dad are my biggest role models; they inspire me to be better every day.”

As a student, teachers have a profound impact on shaping their student’s lives. Bryleigh recalled, ”Many teachers have had an impact on my life, but Mrs. Rose, my Kindergarten teacher, has supported me throughout everything and has been a very special person in my life.”

In terms of what it has taken Bryleigh to become successful in sports, Bryleigh proclaimed, “It has taken working hard every day to become better.”

As far as someone Bryleigh enjoys following on social media, Bryleigh stated, “My favorite person I follow on social media is Paige Bueckers; she plays basketball for The University of Connecticut, and is a good inspiration.”

Besides being a multisport athlete for the Woodward Boomers, Bryleigh is extensively involved in extracurricular activities. Bryleigh stated, “I am a part of The National Honor Society, Pep Club, a member of The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and I am also a senior class officer.” 

After graduating from Woodward High School, Bryleigh plans on pursuing higher education. Bryleigh stated, “After graduating from high school, I am planning on going to Oklahoma State University, and majoring in Sonography.”

In closing, Bryleigh stated, “I want to give a shoutout to my family! I love you guys!”
