Sharon-Mutual Trojans Football Preview

SHARON-MUTUAL TROJANS

Coach: DALTON SHRYOCK

3-6

OFFENSE

While Dalton Shryock is in his first season leading the Sharon-Mutual football team, he is no stranger to the program. His dad was the head coach of the team when Dalton played for the Trojans and now he is proud to be following in his footsteps. After serving as an assistant coach last season, Shryock is looking forward to this season. “We had a great start last season, going 3-0 in our first three games,” he recalled. “But we suffered some injuries in week four and it was a tough season the rest of the way. But as we start a new season, I am looking forward to it and seeing what this great group of guys can do.” Dakota Walker (Sr.) will lead the offense at quarterback. He has a solid arm but can also run the ball when needed, a definite dual threat. One of the strengths of the team is the offensive line. Brycen Farrell (Sr.), JD Sessoms (Sr.), and Landon Dahl (Sr.) all bring great size and experience to the line and that will be beneficial for the Trojans’ running game. At wide receiver, Patrick Wheeler (Sr.) will look to be a strong target for Walker.

DEFENSE

On the defensive side of the ball, the Trojans will look to be physical and get to the ball. Just as they were impactful on the offensive side of the ball, the trio of Farrell, Sessoms, and Dahl will play a big role on the defense. They will work to be disruptive to the offense’s plans. Walker will be in the secondary as a safety and will try to keep the big plays to a minimum. There are also a couple of freshmen that could make some contributions this season. Cooper Hutt and Noah Wickware could both see time at linebacker.
