Alva’s Trinity Stevens – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance – Kenneth Byrd

Alva High School’s Trinity Stevens is heading into her junior year ready to take the field. Active in softball, basketball, and track, she is a true utility player, showing endurance at the mound and the ability to be versatile in the field. With God at the center of her life, Trinity is ready to take on any challenges that come her way. Her softball coach, Megan Stratton, agrees.

“Trinity is such a hard worker,” said Stratton. “She is dedicated, loyal and a fierce competitor. She has worked so hard to perfect her craft. She is a great student and I know she going to do great things in her future. She is such a kind person and a great leader as a junior for us this year.”

In Trinity’s life, she’s been blessed with many impactful people. One is a specific teacher, Dr. Halah Simon.

“It wasn’t about the grades in her class, she focused on caring for each student’s individual needs and would do anything to help us succeed,” Trinity shares.

She is also deeply grateful to her parents for sacrificing so much for her and for always pushing her to grow into a better person and athlete.

What has led to Trinity’s success in sports is her ability to master sacrifice, time management, and most importantly, putting her faith in God. The skills helped her earn a spot on the All-District team as a freshman, a huge achievement in itself.  One of Trinity‘s favorite challenges is competing in the Heart of Oklahoma Tournament where she enjoys the chance to upset bigger schools. She recognizes her teammate, Kaylen Woods, for pushing her to become a better version of herself and preparing her for big moments like these.

Looking ahead, Trinity hopes to leave a lasting impact on her community, especially on the young kids that look up to her. She offers them a piece of advice.

“People are going to doubt you, but never stop believing in yourself because at the end of the day, you are the only person that can make your dreams come true.”

For Trinity, wearing a LadyBug on her jersey is a true honor. Every time she steps on a field, court, or track her goal is to make sure she reflects her school with pride, so that every opponent knows what Alva stands for. Beyond high school, she hopes to continue her athletic career at the university level and pursue a degree in the medical field. With her faith guiding her, Trinity is on her way to leave a lasting legacy.
