Woodward Girls Soccer – Presented by Stride Bank

The Woodward High School girl’s soccer team enters the new season with a good mix of older and younger players. This combination will help the team build off of last season and make progress this season. Head coach Amy Province is ready to get the season started and she thinks her team has a lot of potential.

“We are gearing up for an exciting season, combining youthful energy with experienced leadership,” Province said. “While the roster is young, the team features key returning talent, including a core group of seniors and rising underclassmen. Seniors Bryleigh Douglas Fischer and Avree Taylor are back at full strength after overcoming injuries last season, ready to lead both on and off the field. Sophomore standout Kaleigh Mills also returns, bringing skill and determination to the lineup as she looks to build on an impressive debut season. With a healthy mix of seasoned leaders and emerging stars, the team is poised for growth and success. Their focus on teamwork and resilience promises to make this season one to watch. Fans can expect exciting moments and hard-fought matches as this dynamic group works together to leave their mark.”

Fisher will be a key player again this season. She plays on the back line and she played a huge role in helping her team get to the state championship during her sophomore year. The defense looks to be solid with her as the leader.

Another player that will play a key role is Mills. She is a key member of the midfield and helps control the speed of the game. She is a multi-sport athlete and works harder than just about anyone on the field.
