For Andrew Campbell, stepping up when it matters most has defined his football career at Oklahoma Bible Academy. “There have been many injuries while I have been playing for OBA. I have had to step up when someone gets injured and play where I am needed most.” This resilience has shaped him into the versatile athlete and leader he is today.
Campbell’s journey in football began back in sixth grade. “I had to pick a sport to play, and I’d never played football before, so that’s how I started. The longer I’ve played, the more I have enjoyed it.” Now a senior, Campbell juggles multiple sports—football, baseball, and golf—though football has held a special place in his heart. His parents have been instrumental throughout this journey. “My parents are my biggest influences. They are at every game.”
On the field, Campbell plays both corner and wide receiver. “I prepare for my positions by putting in the hard work at practice and giving it my all on the field.” His goals for this season are simple but meaningful: “My goals and hopes for this season are to not get injured, to prepare the younger classes for future seasons and to have fun.”
The team’s chemistry is another key component of his experience. “We have good chemistry between the players and the coaches. As seniors, we have had to step up to help the younger team members.” Last season gave him a memorable opportunity to do just that. “I had to step up and fill in for the corner because they got injured.”
Looking ahead, Campbell plans to focus on academics. “After high school, I plan to go to OSU and further my education. I do not plan on playing college football.” He envisions himself enjoying the game from the stands while pursuing studies in math and sciences.
Campbell takes pride in how much he has grown. “Looking back, I am most proud of how I was able to step up to different positions and how far I have grown as a man.” As his high school career winds down, he expresses gratitude to those who supported him along the way. “I would like to thank my parents, my teachers, and my friends. Some of which include Lukas Olsen, Wyatt Hofen, and Liam Berry.”
