Colt Moore is a sophomore at Woodward High School. He participates in track, football, and FCA. He got his start in sports from his parents. They encouraged him to give them a try and he’s loved them ever since. Colt’s been participating in track since the fifth grade. His favorite part about it is that his friends are with him along the way; they always make sure that he has a fun time. His highest moment in track so far, has been placing in state for the 400.
Colt’s biggest positive impact has been his dad. “He pushes me and always motivates me to keep going even when I don’t want to. He always tells me not to quit,” Colt says. His biggest role model has been his sister, because he’s always looked up to her and has taken after her ever since he was born. For fun, he likes to lift weights and fish with his buddy, Brody. Colt’s favorite subject in school is lifting, because it’s gives his mind a chance to rest. His favorite teacher is Greg Uribe, because he jokes with the students, can relate to them, and always gives the best advice. After high school, Colt plans to continue on with his track career while attending college, and to continue working to place first in his chosen events.
Sports have taught Colt never to give up, and to keep pushing through, even when you feel like you can’t keep going. When things get tough, Colt’s friends remind him to focus on the good instead of the bad. To him, being a great athlete means being dedicated, putting in hard work in the gym, and to practice your sport anytime that you can. His advice to other athletes is not to put things off until tomorrow; get it done today.
