Sometimes, going to work can be more of a chore than something you enjoy doing. Even if you love the career you chose, everyone can still have days like this. As a teacher, Josh Muller says that those kinds of days are rare for him. When asked what his favorite thing about teaching is, his answer reflected that.
“Everything,” he stated. “I enjoy everything about being an educator. I’m one of those rare teachers who look forward to work starting after a break. I love helping people find their creative side. I enjoy my job and how much it has given back to me. Being a teacher has always been so very fulfilling and has always been the light at the end of the tunnel during hard times.”
Muller teaches Visual Arts for grades seventh through twelfth at Mooreland Public Schools. This is his third year at Mooreland, but he has also taught at Hooker Public Schools, Chisholm Elementary, and Wellston Public Schools.
Throughout his time as a teacher, Muller has received many pieces of advice to help him. But he has one that he holds to and remembers each day.
“Every child is someone’s baby,” he said. “Treat them the way you wanted to be treated growing up.”
When he was a student in the classroom, Josh had teachers who impacted him and even influenced his decision to become a teacher.
“I had some great teachers growing up,” he said. “I think the two that had the biggest impact on me were my band teacher, Jennifer Davis, and of course, my art teacher, Bob Beatley.”
When he is not in the classroom, Josh has several other ways he enjoys spending his time.
“I enjoy hunting, fishing, helping my dad work on the property, traveling, spending time with my girlfriend Stephanie and her family, and soaking up lazy weekends playing PlayStation.”
Just how much I enjoy my job and how much it has given back to me. Being a teacher has always been so very fulfilling and has always been the light at the end of the tunnel during hard times.
