Shattuck’s Tayzlee Bullard

For Shattuck High School senior Tayzlee Bullard, sports are about more than just competition. They are about character, leadership, and representing something bigger than herself. A standout in both softball and basketball, Bullard shines as a versatile athlete who leads with quiet strength and unwavering dedication. She plays left field on the softball diamond and post on the basketball court, bringing consistency and heart to every team she is part of.
“What motivates me is making a good impact on younger athletes, representing my town and school, and being a good role model,” Bullard said.
Her biggest inspiration comes from her sister, who she had the privilege of playing alongside for one season.
“She has a great work ethic and inspired me to work hard and play to the best of my ability,” Bullard shared.
She also credits her English teacher for her encouragement and support.
“She gives the best advice and always gives her best to help you no matter what she has going on,” Bullard said.
Bullard’s career highlights include winning the 2023 state championship in slow-pitch softball and finishing as runner-up the following year; these achievements reflect years of hard work, commitment, and mental toughness.
She values every teammate and believes the bench players are the team’s unsung heroes. “They cheer and support whoever is playing and pick us up whenever we need it,” she said.
When she is off the field and court, Bullard is active in FCA and student council. She balances academics and athletics through discipline and communication.
Her favorite athletes are Jayda Coleman and Kinzie Hansen from OU, and she looks up to Sadie Robertson for her faith and positivity.
Coach Whitney Jones praised Bullard, saying, “Tayzlee is an excellent teammate, a caring soul, and a soft-spoken leader who sets the tone with her hard work.”
