SHATTUCK INDIANS
Coach: TROY BULLARD
5-6
Shattuck heads into the 2026 season young and relatively inexperienced, but longtime head coach Troy Bullard believes this group has a chance to play its way into a playoff spot if it can stay healthy. With only three starters back on each side of the ball, the Indians will lean heavily on their returning skill players while developing a new core up front. Bullard expects this team to grow week to week as more players adjust to bigger varsity roles.
Offensively, Shattuck will line up in pro and twins sets and “run quite a bit of option,” aiming to establish the ground game while giving its backs opportunities in space. Junior Gabe Vasko returns as a key playmaker at running back and receiver, joined by senior tight end Connor Howard and senior receiver/running back Dodger Sloan to form the core of the skill group. With limited starting experience back on the line, the offense will rely on execution and continuity as the season progresses.
Defensively, the Indians will base out of a 3-2 look, emphasizing sound fits and leveraging the versatility of their two-way standouts. Vasko returns as the starting safety, with Howard working at defensive end/linebacker and Sloan at defensive back, giving the unit experienced leaders at every level. The staff believes if this young group can stay on the field and tackle consistently, it will give Shattuck a chance to contend late in the season.
