Q&A with Shattuck’s Andrew Quisenberry – Presented by Newman Memorial Hospital

VYPE: How long have you competed in football?

Andrew: I have played football for five years, since I was in sixth grade.

VYPE: What first got you interested in the sport?

Andrew: I always remember watching the high school football team and their success. I always knew I wanted to be a part of it.

VYPE: Do you have a favorite memory in your time competing for your high school?

Andrew: I remember last year, we played Ringwood. I got an interception and started running down the sideline. I almost broke free, but I was tackled. Everyone was worried if I got a concussion, but I didn’t think I was hit that hard!

VYPE: Do you have a favorite opponent to compete against? If so, why?

Andrew: I do have a favorite opponent to compete against. I think it adds a competitive drive to become better and try to out perform them.

VYPE: What do your teammates mean to you?

Andrew: My teammates are like family to me. Sometimes we don’t get along, but at the end of the day we get after it and keep working for the team.

VYPE: Who do you look to as a role model?

Andrew: I look up to my older brother because he worked hard for everything he got. I also look up to my dad because he has shaped me into the person I am today.

VYPE: What grade are you in, and what is your favorite subject in school?

Andrew: I am a sophomore, and I have loved math ever since I was little.

VYPE: Are you involved in any other sports or activities?

Andrew: I currently am on the baseball and academic team. I am also the secretary of our local FFA chapter.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

Andrew: After high school, I plan to go to Oklahoma State and make it into Vet School. I plan to come back and become a Vet in Northwest Oklahoma.
