Q&A with Mooreland’s Jackson Crotts – Presented by Stride Bank

VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?

Jackson: I am a senior at Mooreland High School and I run cross country and track.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Jackson: Reece Hensley. I’ve known him my whole life, and he’s a gifted young runner who’s gonna take this state by storm.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Jackson: I don’t really pay attention to sports, but I look up to Collen McLain because he came from my town and won state for running multiple times and I think it’s cool having someone do something big from a small town like mine.

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Jackson: Getting runner-up and placing fifteenth at state cross country.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Jackson: Mr.Uribe, because he is a great teacher and he’s the funniest teacher I’ve had.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Jackson: Don’t be scared to ask for advice or help. People are good at things for a reason, so ask how they do it.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Jackson: Chicken and shrimp Alfredo with a crème brûlée and a Diet Coke from the Heart of Mexico.

VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?

Jackson: I am a Boy Scout, and I serve my community and the Lord

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shout-out or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Jackson: Shout out to my Coach. She’s like a second mom to me, and she’s believed in me and been there for me since I can remember. My team is some of the best in the state, and I couldn’t be where I am without them. My girlfriend is my biggest fan, and she makes all the training worth it just to see her smile after a long day of practice.
