9Q’s with Izzy Eilers – Mooreland Girls Bball

VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Mooreland HS?

Eilers: I really like the people. My teammates and coaches are super supportive, and the whole community is behind us. It honestly feels like being part of a big family.

VYPE: What grade are you in and what position do you play?

Eilers: I’m a senior, and I play center or post.

VYPE: When did you start playing basketball?

Eilers: I started playing in first grade, maybe even kindergarten. I’ve just always loved basketball and never wanted to stop playing.

VYPE: What is your favorite pre-game and post-game meal?

Eilers: Before a game, I like chicken strips. After a game, I would probably go with a cheeseburger or maybe even Chick-fil-A.

VYPE: Which teammate always impresses you the most or do you have a former teammate who left an impression on you?

Eilers: Olivia Clem always impresses me. She worked so hard and always had a positive attitude. She made everyone want to play better, and can always bring up your mood.

VYPE: Who do you look forward to playing against this season?

Eilers: Seiling. Their games are always competitive and really fun to play.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?

Eilers: I am going to Bethany College to play basketball. I want to major in Exercise Science, and then I want to become a physical therapist.

VYPE: What is the toughest gym to play in on the road?

Eilers: Seiling. Their crowd is really loud, they are a good team, and it’s just a tough place to play.

VYPE: What part of your game is most improved coming into this season?

Eilers: My confidence and consistency. I’ve been working on staying calm under pressure and making smarter plays around the basket.
