Q&A with Hooker’s Justin Palacios – Presented by First National Bank of Hooker

VYPE: What grade are you in and what sports do you play?

Justin: I am a sophomore at Hooker High School. I play baseball, basketball, football, and I run track.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?

Justin: Football has taught me to be patient and stay disciplined. It also has taught me to trust my teammates and coaches. We have to trust each other to make plays and take care of each other on and off the field.

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Justin: The accomplishment that I am most proud of is our football team making it to state last year.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Justin: My favorite part is having a school and community that is willing to back us up and show the amount of support they do on and off the school events.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Justin: Our varsity quarterback, Kleat Martens. The guy is a leader. He’s a dawg that never backs down from anything.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Justin: Mrs. Jaime Hill. She’s always ready to help without judgement. Even though she can be strict she really is kind and encouraging.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Justin: Isiah Pacheco because he runs the football so hard every time he gets it. He is always running so hard. I admire his grit.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Justin: My mom’s Chicken Bacon ranch pasta, lasagna, and cheeseburgers.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Justin: I would like to give a shoutout to my entire family that are always there to show love and support to whatever event I am at.
