Mom of the Month Spotlight with Woodward’s Lindsey Craighead – Presented by Pioneer

When a high school athlete is on the field or court competing, it gives them a boost in confidence when they see their family and friends in the stands cheering them on to victory. As a parent, Lindsey Craighead says that being there for your kids is one of the most important things you can do.

“Show up,” she stated. “Being a presence in a child’s life is the easiest and most rewarding job of a sports parent. We celebrate each opportunity, win or lose, because there’s something to learn from both. Helping to maintain a healthy balance between sports, school, and downtime is important.”

Craighead is the mother of Caisen Iliff, a sophomore at Woodward High School. Iliff is a member of the Boomers’ baseball and golf teams.

Lindsey is an accountant and has been so for over twenty-five years. She was recently elected as the Director of Northwestern Electric Cooperative. She is also an active board member of the Boomer Homerun Club. They raise funds for meals, equipment, field improvements and much more. She also volunteers as a youth group sponsor at the First Christian Church and sings on the church’s praise band.

When she is not working, cheering on her kids, or volunteering, Lindsey finds other ways to spend her time.

“I enjoy traveling and learning to play golf with my two sons,” she said. “We live on a ranch and most of our spare time goes to taking care of cattle, fencing, equipment, and property improvement.”

While she enjoys seeing her kids succeed in sports, Craighead knows that it all starts in the classroom.

“Understanding priorities is crucial in our family,” she said. “It helps develop responsibility, time management, and focus. When kids are clear about what matters most, whether it’s academics, sports, family, or work, they’re better equipped to make decisions that align with their values and goals.”
