9 Questions with Woodward’s Grayson Roach – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Newman Memorial Hospital

VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Woodward HS?  

Roach: I love that I have a head coach with great experience and that we are always prepared for any game on our schedule.

VYPE: What grade are you in and what position do you play?  

Roach: I am a sophomore in high school and I am a power forward.

VYPE: When did you start playing basketball?  

Roach: I have been playing basketball since third grade Kids Inc. in Woodward.

VYPE: What is your favorite pre-game and post-game meal?

Roach: For a pregame meal I like to eat beef jerky and after the game I want steak and shrimp from Texas Roadhouse.

VYPE: Which teammate always impresses you the most or do you have a former teammate who left an impression on you?

Roach: The most impressive teammate is Kadon Gaines. What impresses me about Kadon is how many different ways he can score the basketball.

VYPE: Who do you look forward to playing against this season?  

Roach: I am looking forward to playing Weatherford, they have been really good and now so are we.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?

Roach: Hopefully I get a chance to play college basketball, I am also interested in going to college and becoming a physical therapist.

VYPE: What part of your game is most improved coming into this season?

Roach: The most improved part of my game is my shooting, I have worked really hard to be able to knock down shots when I am open.

VYPE: Who is the greatest basketball player of all-time?

Roach: The greatest player ever is probably Lebron James but my favorite player is Shai Gilegeous-Alexander. I have gotten his autograph two times.
