WOODWARD BOOMERS
Coach: JACOB SCHNEBERGER
1-9
OFFENSE
The Woodward Boomers are entering the 2025 season hungry to turn the page and build on the lessons learned from last year’s 1-9 campaign. Under the guidance of head coach Jacob Schneberger, the Boomers will again battle in the always-competitive District 4A-1, where every Friday night presents a new challenge. Offensively, the Boomers will be led by quarterback Kash Carter, a steady and capable leader who possesses both a high football IQ and the athleticism to extend plays and keep drives alive. Carter will have a reliable pair of targets on the outside in wide receivers Jake Graf and Colt Moore, both of whom bring speed, solid hands, and big-play potential. Up front, the offensive line will be anchored by the gritty and relentless John Ortega, a tone-setter in the trenches who plays with heart and tenacity on every snap. With a renewed focus and more experience on the field, the Boomers are aiming to put more
points on the board and take a step forward offensively this fall.
DEFENSE
On the defensive side of the ball, the Boomers will look to clamp down on opposing offenses and minimize explosive plays. The defensive front will be powered by a dynamic duo at defensive end, Tripp Bates and Austin Rolin, who are both physical, high-motor players capable of getting into the backfield and disrupting plays before they can develop. Linebacker Bowen Morton will serve as the heart of the defense, tracking the ball from sideline to sideline and providing leadership at the second level. In the secondary, defensive back Mason Arnold will be tasked with keeping opposing receivers in check and delivering smart, physical play as the last line of defense. With a group that is growing in chemistry and confidence, the Boomers’ defense is poised to show significant improvement. The Boomers are supported by a dedicated coaching staff that includes assistants Travis Oakley, Russ Radford, Shon Zollinger, Greg Moore, Nehemiah Lewis, Clay Cameron, Zack Warner, Kyle Shryock, Mitchell Ritter, and Kirt Province. Their commitment and expertise will be key as Woodward looks to take strides forward this season.
