2025 Woodward Boomers Softball Preview – Presented by Stride Bank

As the 2025 fastpitch softball season approaches, Coach Jacey Dauphin and her team are gearing up for what promises to be an exciting year of transition and opportunity. Coming off a strong 23-11 record in 2024, the team is focused on building upon that success while adjusting to the loss of three key seniors who played significant roles both on and off the field.

“It will be interesting to see how the cards fall to fill the gaps this season,” said Dauphin. “But I’m excited to watch this group grow and work together to accomplish their goals.”

Leading the charge will be a core of five returning seniors who bring experience and leadership: Kamber Clark, Adelyn Friend, Karlee Kidd, Lexi Mendell, and Holly Wilson. Each of these players made important contributions last year, and their familiarity with the program and each other will be critical as the team looks to re-establish its identity and chemistry.

One of the more inspiring storylines this season will be the return of senior Yadira Reyes. After missing last season due to injury, Reyes is working her way back and is expected to make an impact. Her comeback is not only a boost to the team’s depth but also a testament to her determination and resilience.

The coaching staff is also optimistic about the underclassmen. A solid group of juniors and sophomores is expected to step into larger roles, and a talented class of incoming freshmen could play a key part in bridging the gap left by last year’s graduates. If the pieces come together as hoped, this team has the potential to surprise opponents and continue its upward trend.

With a solid returning core, promising young talent, and a coach entering her third year of leadership, this squad is ready to compete, grow, and chase another successful season.
