GUYMON TIGERS
Coach: JAKE MARTINEZ
5-5
OFFENSE
The Tigers are aiming to build on last season’s momentum and make a push for the postseason. Under the guidance of head coach Jake Martinez, the team wrapped up last year with a 5-5 record, but with a strong returning core, they have every reason to expect improvement. Leading the offense is senior quarterback Miguel Vargas (6-0, 185), a sharp-minded playmaker with a high football IQ who’s poised to be a steady leader for the squad. In the backfield, senior running back Isaiah Dunnagan (5-7, 170) brings toughness and vision, able to hit open lanes and punish opposing defenses. On the outside, junior wide receiver Andy Ozaeta (5-7, 160) will provide a big-play threat, giving the Tigers a dynamic weapon in the passing game.
DEFENSE
On the defensive side of the ball, Coach Martinez’s squad will focus on limiting opponents’ big plays and keeping the pressure on. Senior linebackers Miguel Vargas and Ramon Ochoa (5-10, 185) will anchor the middle of the defense, combining strength and speed to play key roles this season. Up front, sophomore defensive end Adrian Herrera (6-0, 180) is expected to be a disruptive force on the line, causing problems for opposing offenses. In the secondary, senior captain Isaiah Dunnagan, who has worn the captain’s title for the past two seasons, will lead the effort to lock down receivers and keep opponents out of the end zone. Supporting Martinez on the sidelines are assistant coaches Chad Foster, James Henton, George Dominguez, Jaishone Brown, Antonio Vaughn, Gannon Wallace, and Marco Crawford.
