Crescent’s Leighton McNair – Presented by Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma

Showing Brahman heifers and commercial sheep takes time, patients and persistence. All qualities you will find in Crescent High School’s Leighton McNair.

McNair first joined FFA when she was in the 8th grade. Now a sophomore and a guard on the varsity basketball team, McNair said she got involved in FFA after some encouragement from a teacher.

“My old ag teacher Mrs. Snider encouraged me to join. What I enjoy most is showing livestock, meeting new people, and gaining new opportunities,” McNair said. “I am a chapter officer [reporter], show livestock, cattle grade, dairy judge, and I plan on giving a speech.”

FFA is not her only activity. McNair serves on the student council, is a member of Beta Club and participates in track. But FFA is a passion and McNair said anyone interested should give it a try.

“FFA offers so many opportunities and experiences that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. It’s such a fun, educational, and growing organization to be a part of. Joining FFA can only benefit you and your future,” said McNair.

Once her time at CHS comes to an end, McNair would like to attend college and pursue a degree. “I want to go to college, possibly OSU and study either animal or veterinarian science,” said McNair.
