Last season did not go as planned for the Lady Tigers, but head coach Kary Heath is optimistic and looks forward to what the team will do this season. “We bring back every player from last season’s roster,” Heath said. “And we have a huge opportunity with our challenging schedule to take a big step forward and continue to build the foundation of our program. Led by last year’s leading scorers Aja Adams-House and Zori Wilson, along with incoming freshman Trinity Webster, we have a talented group of young players that had a very successful summer and look to carry that momentum into the season.”
Adams-House (5-2, Jr.) is an elite shooter from deep with quick handles and an excellent feel for the game. She plays much bigger than her size, is able to defend any position with her high basketball IQ, and rebound as well as anybody on the floor. She led the team in points, assists, and steals as a sophomore, making 50 three pointers on the season despite heavy attention from opposing defenses. A big addition to this year’s team, Webster (5-6, Fr.) has logo range as a shooter and is almost unstoppable when she gets to her spot as a slasher.
Rylee Alexander (5-8, So.) is a long, rangy athlete who excels at getting out on the run in transition and making life difficult on opponents who meet her in the paint. She has a high motor and is a competitive player, which makes her a difficult player to guard. Zori Wilson (5-3, Jr.) is tough, physical, relentless, and equally capable of giving you 20 points or 20 charges, whatever is needed to win. The team’s only senior, Kynlee Ross (5-10, Sr.) has stuck it out through multiple coaching changes since she was in the seventh grade.
When every other player on her middle school teams eventually fell off and moved on to other sports because of the constant change within the program, she never left, and is now reaping the rewards as the only senior on the team and the embodiment of toughness and resiliency for the program. Other players on the team include Leighton McNair (5-2, So.), Cate Williams (5-8, So.), Konlee Taylor (5-5, So.), Jayda Nethon (5-3, Fr.), Kynlee Moorman (5-2, Fr.), and Zoey Deangelis (5-9, Fr.).
