Timberlake’s Lilly Johnson – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Johnson Farms

For Timberlake High School senior Lilly Johnson, sports are more than just games, they’re opportunities to leave a lasting mark. A three-sport athlete competing in softball, basketball, and track, Lilly has built her reputation on grit, speed, and an unshakable work ethic. Holding a school record with 56 stolen bases in a single season, she’s shown just how far dedication can take her.

What fuels Lilly’s competitive fire is simple: her family, friends, and the awareness that nothing is guaranteed.

“Knowing that every game could be my last makes me want to play like every game is my last,” she said.

Her parents have been her greatest influence, always encouraging her to push past limits, even if it meant sacrificing their own time to show up for her. She also points to her Aunt Tammy, who doubles as both a relative and mentor, inspiring her early love of sports and teaching her how they can shape character.

Lilly’s path to success hasn’t been easy. Countless hours of private lessons, after-school practices, and unwavering belief from coaches and teammates have molded her into the player she is today. The payoff has been moments like starting varsity and creating highlight plays against long-time rivals such as Cherokee.

She credits teammates like her best friend Henzley Thomas for keeping her grounded and motivated.

“It’s bittersweet knowing this will be our last year together, but it pushes us to prove who we are,” Lilly said.

She also notes Taylor Powell as one of the team’s unsung heroes—someone who puts in the work but doesn’t always get the recognition she deserves.

Off the field, Lilly is equally committed. Involved in FFA, FCA, and the academic team, she juggles a busy schedule with strong multitasking skills and the support of close friends.

When game time comes, Lilly turns up “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath to get locked in. She dreams of playing softball at OU, but track and field also holds her heart. No matter what, she hopes her effort reflects the pride she feels in representing Timberlake.

“Being out there isn’t just about me,” Lilly said. “It’s about showing what my school and community stand for.”
