Q&A with OBA’s Kami Jenkins – Presented by Daniel Snyder Shelter Insurance

VYPE: What grade are in and what sports do you play?

Kami: I am a junior at Oklahoma Bible Academy. I play volleyball and basketball.

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Kami: A major memory is making it to the State Championship with my basketball team in 2024.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?

Kami: My sport has taught me the importance of encouraging one another on and off the court.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Kami: My favorite part about representing OBA as an athlete is the opportunity to inspire younger kids to get out of their comfort zone and try a sport and work hard at it every day.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Kami: I cannot pick one teammate, but my four seniors have been the most amazing teammates throughout our six years of playing together. Conley, Karson, Lilyan, and Brianna have shown me ways to better myself as a player, but they have truly impacted my spiritual life and have helped shape me into the person I am today.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

Kami: My inspiration comes from my coaches. My Dad, Coach Roth, and Coach Cayot, all push me to work harder every day to help my team reach our goals.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Kami: My favorite teacher is my current Bible teacher, Mrs. Sandwick. She is a great role model for everyone at OBA. Mrs. Sandwick is always there to listen and guide you down the right path in any situation and she will always put a smile on your face.

VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?

Kami: Outside of OBA and sports I am currently a cosmetology student at Autry Tech.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Kami: I would choose to go to the Maldives for a summer vacation with my family and my best friend, Whitney.
