Pond Creek-Hunter softball player Kate Bentley is involved in many activities at school. Aside from playing first base and catcher for the softball team, Bentley serves as president of the PC-H FFA chapter.
“I first got involved with FFA when I was in the 8th grade,” Bentley said. “I am the president of the PC-H FFA chapter, and I also show pigs.”
Bentley said she was encouraged to join FFA by someone close to home and the chapter adviser.
“I was encouraged to get involved by my chapter advisor Charlie Hensy and my dad Justin Bentley,” said Bentley.
To say Bentley has enjoyed her time in FFA would be an understatement. The friendships and activities are all high on her “best moments” list.
“I enjoy the connections and relationships that I have made through FFA. I have met some of my best friends through various Career and Leadership Development events,” said Bentley.
Playing sports is another activity Bentley loves. Representing PC-H in competition and spending time with her teammates is always a special time.
“Besides softball and FFA I am also involved in STUCO, cheer, and senior class office,” Bentley said. “I started playing softball at the age of four. I love the friendships and memories that I have made through the sport. What I love most about my teammates is how supportive they are. They are always picking each other up and helping out where they can.”
Bentley said her father is her biggest inspiration and once she is done with high school, Bentley said she plans to attend college.
“After I graduate, I plan to go to college for Early Childhood Education.”
