The Oklahoma Bible Academy Lady Trojans are set to build on the momentum of a strong 2023 season as they hit the courts in 2024. Head coach Randy Roth is optimistic about the team’s prospects, highlighting a talented mix of returning athletes and promising newcomers.
“For 2024, OBA looks to build on a strong 2023 season,” said Roth. “With several experienced players returning and a few underclassmen stepping up, we’re excited for what’s ahead.”
Senior Ashley Miller, who competes at #1 Singles, is the anchor of the team and enters the season with high expectations after finishing in the top seven at the state tournament last year. “Ashley’s performance last season was outstanding, and we’re looking for her to lead the team both on and off the court,” said Roth.
Sophomore Reagan Miller and freshman Maddy Edwards will compete for the #2 Singles position, adding depth and energy to the team’s lineup. Reagan, who played #1 Doubles in 2023 alongside sophomore Mayra Uceda, brings valuable experience and a competitive spirit to her game.
Juniors Caroline Caldwell and sophomores Sophie Petka and Mayra Uceda round out the experienced group, all of whom contributed significantly to the team’s success in doubles play last year. “With so many players returning, we have a strong foundation to build on,” Roth said.
Freshman Kyndall Ray and Maddy Edwards are exciting additions to the Lady Trojans roster and will compete for court time this spring. “Both Kyndall and Maddy bring enthusiasm and potential to the team. We’re eager to see how they grow throughout the season,” Roth noted.
The Lady Trojans will kick off their season at the Rother Cup on March 5 at OKCTC, followed by the “Big Daddy” Tournament in Ponca City on March 9. Other key events include the Enid Invitational on March 25 and the Pauls Valley Classic on March 29. A home dual against Woodward on March 27 and the Guthrie Tournament on April 8 rounds out the team’s challenging schedule.
With a balanced roster and a strong mix of veteran leadership and fresh talent, the Lady Trojans are poised for a successful 2024 season. Keep an eye on this team as they work hard to make their mark on the court this spring.
