Okeene’s Ethan Milligan – Football Spotlight – Presented by Ali Dobrinski – Chalk Realty

Ethan Milligan loves his school and community.  He shared that the highlight of his sporting career is being able to represent his school as an Okeene Whippet.  With the number of sports and academic activities Ethan is involved in, one could say that he takes his school’s success very seriously.  As a Senior at Okeene High School, Ethan plays defensive end and tight end for the football team. When he’s not sacking quarterbacks and snagging touchdowns, Ethan is crashing the boards and running the floor on the basketball court.  He also plays the hot corner at third base and also spends time at first base for the baseball team.  Three sports would be enough to keep most student athletes busy, but Ethan also finds time to run for the track team.

A student athlete with this level of success and involvement has to have not only a “why” but good sources of motivation and support.  Ethan’s motivation comes from constantly chasing success and his desire to win.  He shared that one of his biggest influences are his parents.  “My parents push me to be the best version of myself.”  Judging by his involvement in so many sports and other activities, this has to be a full-time job for Ethan’s parents as well.  Ethan also gives credit to his coaches and feels they are a tremendous influence on him as well.

He is not only successful on the playing field.  Ethan also makes time to grow intellectually through academic clubs and activities.  He is involved in FCA, FCCLA, NHS, Speech and Stucco.  Being involved in his youth group at Okeene Methodist is also important to Ethan.

While Ethan is motivated by the chase for success, his actions speak louder than his words.  He feels like the key to his success is consistently showing up.  Ethan shared, “I feel like the key to success is showing up early in the morning, over break, showing up even when you don’t feel like it, working hard to keep your teammates accountable, and making an effort to stay close as a team.”  This philosophy has served Ethan well throughout his high school career, and will no doubt contribute to his success later in life!

On a side note, Ethan does find time to relax and enjoy his high school days.  He is active on social media and follows Megan Moroney.  He shared that she is a good singer and also very good looking.
