The Okarche Warriors are the reigning champions of Class A basketball. But with a new season, they show no signs of relinquishing the crown. Head coach Aaron West knows that his team will have a target on their back this season but he also knows that his squad has a lot of experience, which will be an asset. “Three of our key players return from last season’s state championship run,” West said. “This could be our deepest team in years at Okarche. We could see twelve to fourteen guys getting in game action. We have a strong core to continue to build around. Expectations are just as high here and we expect big things from the Warriors again this season.
We hope to continue to build on our tradition and success at Okarche. I feel Class A boys basketball is always one of the deepest basketball classes in the state of Oklahoma with some great of the best coaches out there. There are no nights off.” Jett Mueggenborg (6-3, Jr.) will be a key player for the Warriors again this season. He averaged 20.8 points, seven rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game last year and he can get to the hole and score in bunches. A smooth player with a nice shot. Another Mueggenborg that will impact the season is Hunter (6-3, Sr.). He is a four year starter at point guard and he does a great job of running the offense and getting his teammates involved.
Easton Roby (6-3, Jr.) is a solid defender and plays the game extremely hard. Other players that will look to play a role this season are Luke Hill (5-9, Jr.), Collin Hendrickson (5-9, Jr.), Ethan Kirby (6-0, Jr.), Brett Carnott (6-0, Jr.), Macklin Smith (6-3, Jr.), Carter Robinson (6-0, So.), Kysen Avila (6-0, So.), Austin Pinkerton (5-11, Jr.), Ryan Mayo (6-0, So.), Cody Endres (6-3, Jr.), Luke Harris (5-11, Jr.), Sam Kroener (6-0, Jr.), Grady Terrell (6-1, So.), and Court Sumrall (5-10, Fr.).
