Medford High School’s Trevor Lohmann
Trevor Lohmann, a sophomore at Medford High School, is already building a reputation as a dedicated and driven varsity athlete, guided by strong family values and a commitment to improvement both on and off the field.
Lohmann credits his parents as his biggest inspiration. “My mom and dad inspire me because they are some of the hardest workers I know,” he said. “They’ve taught me to never give up and to work hard for the things I want.” That mindset carries into every aspect of his life, from academics to athletics.
A linebacker for the football team, Lohmann understands the mental demands of his position. He said one of the biggest challenges is reading plays and quickly recovering from mistakes. “You have to be mentally smart enough to read the field, and if something goes wrong, you have to come back and do better the next time,” he said.
Lohmann’s preparation begins before kickoff. With headphones on and music playing, he focuses on competing with confidence. “I remind myself to give everything I have because I want to play at the next level,” he said. “Every game is a chance to get better.”
One of his most memorable moments came during a state championship appearance, an experience he shared with teammates, friends and family. He also recalls the excitement of winning a semifinal game, when community support was at its peak. “The whole town was behind us,” he said.
That sense of community is one of Lohmann’s favorite aspects of his hometown. “No matter what sport or activity you’re in, people show up to support you,” he said. “It feels like a big family.”
Team relationships are central to Lohmann’s experience, especially playing alongside his brother, Trent. “Getting to be his teammate is really special,” he said. “I’ve learned a lot from him, and it’s something I’m very grateful for.”
Beyond football, Lohmann stays active through baseball and his involvement in FFA, where he serves as sentinel and helps with community service projects. In the classroom, agriculture is his favorite subject, and Coach Hess stands out as his favorite teacher.
Whether on the field, in the classroom or in the community, Lohmann continues to develop leadership, discipline and a strong work ethic — qualities he believes will help him achieve his long-term goals.
