The Hennessey Eagles’ baseball team will look to their upperclassmen to lead them to a successful season. They will be looking to build off of last season which saw them advance to the regional round of the postseason. Head coach Matt Fuksa is ready to see his team get on the field and get the season underway.
“This year, our team will have a solid group of seniors to lead us,” he said. “We also have some talented younger players who will need to step up and help out the seniors if we are going to be successful. We are excited for the season and look forward to the future, as we have a lot of young talent that will be seeing a lot of playing time this spring.”
One of the guys that will be a key player on the team will be Jakob Johns. He is a senior that brings a lot of experience to the field and the team will rely on his leadership, both on and off the field.
Levi Ferrell is a sophomore who started for the Eagles as a freshman. He had to grow up quickly to compete at a varsity level. He has shown a lot of improvement and growth in his sophomore year. Levi is an important player on the mound, offensively, and defensively.
Another guy to keep an eye on this season is Hunter Weber. He is a very selfless player and person. He will do whatever needs to be done to help his team out in any way possible. He is a typical role player that can be successful anywhere he is needed. Hunter also leads the team off the field by making good decisions and being a class act student-athlete.
