Macee Ylitalo is a 17-year-old senior at Enid High School. She is an active young woman who is fully embracing her final year of school.
Macee comes from a military background. Her father is a Lieutenant Colonel Retired (February 2025). He now works for an oil company. Her family consists of Dad, Mom, three older brothers (24, 22 and 18) and her. Grades are important and she is currently fourth in her senior class. She is in concurrent enrollment and will be graduating with her EHS Diploma and an associate degree from Northern Oklahoma College, Enid, this spring.
Macee is involved with varsity cheer, varsity swim (50 free, 100 free, relays), Show Choir, School Musical, Student Council, National Honor Society, FCA (Worship Team) and her local church. Plus, she works two jobs! Enid Cheer qualified for State Competition this year for the first time. The cheer squad finished ninth! EHS Cheer coach Carrie DeClerck talked about Macee’s contribution to the cheer program saying, “Macee is a leader, dependable, positive, and always willing to step up. Her attitude and work ethic set the standard. Everyone enjoys being around her.” Macee likes Show Choir and enjoys being in the School Musicals. This year will be her fourth performance in the annual musical. She is active in FCA as part of the Worship Team and helps get each huddle meeting off to a good start. FCA sponsor Jennifer Sullivan talked about Macee being so “dependable” and being a “great planner.” As we talked, Sullivan mentioned Macee’s bigger calling with EHS FCA may be in Special Events. Macee has been in leadership roles with FCA since her sophomore year.
Macee wants to be a neurosurgeon. That goal has been with her since third grade. She is smart, likes science and works well with her hands. She attended a week-long medical camp at OU last summer and enjoyed that experience. She looks to attend another camp this summer.
Macee has recently returned from PASSION 2026. There were over 45,000 young people attending the event. She talked about her experience and spoke about how overwhelming it was at first. She went on to talk about how “awesome” and “cool” worship was each day. Macee said, “It was a wonderful opportunity, one I will never forget. I am glad I went.”
Macee Ylitalo is making a difference at Enid High School!
