Kolbie Green is a 17 year old, soon to be 18, senior at Enid High School. He is involved with many activities, like running cross country and track, Show Choir, playing Martin J in the school play Mean Girls the Musical, orchestra, National Honor Society, Platinum E Club and FCA. Plus, he is the head lifeguard at Champlin Pool in Enid.
Green is part of the Enid High School FCA Huddle and the leadership team. Green had a special experience in January going with a small FCA group to Atlanta, Georgia, to attend PASSION. The PASSION Conference is held in the State Farm Arena and designed for students that are seniors in high school through college (ages 18-25). The conference is a three day challenge to 50,000 students to live for what matters most, Jesus. They went to change the climate of faith around the globe. PASSION is more than incredible music, more than the events. PASSION is about living in HIS name. According to Green, it was an amazing experience to glorify Jesus and changed his life. One of the Enid FCA sponsors, Jennifer Sullivan, talked with me about Green and his fire for Jesus. As part of the Enid FCA Leadership Team, Green has used his position in special events to show his acts of service and his willingness to share the gospel with those around him. Green called it “a spiritual high for him!”
Green is looking forward to the remaining part of his senior year. He will be performing in the school musical Mean Girls playing Martin J. He is looking forward to the track season where he will be running the 100, 200 and 400.
Green talked about a teacher that influenced his life. It was Alex Prokopis, his orchestra teacher. He taught him more than music. It was the life lessons Green remembers the most.
After graduation, Green wants to attend college and become a physical therapist. He will likely attend the University of Oklahoma. He wants to work with people and help them to become well.
Kolbie Green is on a journey. He is loving life and serving God. It will be interesting to see where his journey takes him.
