Enid’s Alex Crissup

For Enid High School senior Alexandrea (Alex) Crissup, basketball has always been more than just a sport; it’s a lifelong passion built on hard work, sacrifice, and the constant support of family. As both a shooting guard and post player, Crissup brings versatility, strength, and leadership to the court, often stepping into whatever role her team needs most.

“My family motivates me,” Crissup said. “They’ve always believed in me and pushed me to give my best, no matter what.”

She credits her uncle Tanner as her biggest influence.

“He’s always willing to help me, and he’s been my biggest supporter since day one. He pushes me to keep getting better and never give up, even when things get hard.”

Crissup also points to her eighth grade math teacher as someone who made a lasting impact on her life.

“She made me a better student and a more confident person,” Crissup said. “She taught me lessons that go beyond the classroom — about effort, attitude, and believing in yourself.”

Her basketball journey has been far from easy.

“It’s taken a lot to be successful — long nights, early mornings, missing birthdays, family events, and even holidays,” she shared. “But every sacrifice has been worth it because it’s helped me grow as a player and a person.”

Crissup’s favorite opponents to face are Edmond North and Ponca City.

“Edmond North because they’re tough, and it’s always a battle. Ponca because they’re our rivals, those games just mean more,” she said. “Representing Enid means everything. I’m blessed to do it.”

In practice, she enjoys going up against Amarianna, a teammate who constantly pushes her limits.

“She challenges me every time and makes me better.”

Head coach Aly Seng praised Crissup’s relentless commitment.

“Alex is one of the hardest workers on our team. She’s up for any challenge and never complains. She’s the first one in the gym and the last to leave. She leads by example every single day.”

Crissup looks up to Stailee Heard on social media, calling her “a great player and a great person to look up to.” Her dream is to play college basketball at UNC, and if she weren’t on the basketball court, she’d be playing volleyball.
