Dover’s Kylee Bell – Presented by Farm Credit Western Oklahoma

Dover High School junior Kylee Bell is heavily involved in school activities. From FFA to sports, Bell spends the majority of her time in the barn, on the track or serving as Spirit Director for STUCO. She’s also a cheerleader.

Bell was a 4-H Club member before joining the FFA chapter at school in the eighth grade with some encouragement from her parents.

“My mom and my dad both showed livestock and were highly involved in FFA in high school. They felt it did a lot for them, so they strongly encouraged me to join as soon as I could,” said Bell.

Showing livestock is a family tradition and it’s just one of many things Bell loves about FFA.

“The thing I enjoy most about being in FFA is getting to travel around to different places and meet new people while I show sheep. I show sheep, mainly Dorsets and Whiteface crosses,” said Bell.

As a chapter member, Bell is involved in several things including cattle grading, showing livestock and vet science when they have enough for a team.

On the track, Bell is a pole vaulter, something she started in eighth grade, but she didn’t compete until her freshman season. Bell has set a goal for herself this season and is hoping to help the track team do well in meets.

“For this track season, my expectations are to get over 11-feet and win state in Class A pole vault, while also making it to state in high jump and 300 hurdles,” said Bell.

As for her future, Bell is making plans to attend college and continue competing in track and field.

“I plan on going to NOC Tonkawa to be part of the Sheep Center, unless I get a scholarship to pole vault at a college. After I go to a juco, I plan to go to OSU and get my bachelor’s degree,” said Bell.
