CANTON LADY TIGERS

Coach: JAMIE DAVIS

2024-25 Record: 21-6

Jamie Davis has jumped right into her first season as head coach for the Canton girls basketball team. Davis has her own list of accolades over 21 years of coaching, including coaching six state tournament teams, eight OGBCA All-Staters, and being a seven-time Conference Coach of the Year.

The Canton Lady Tigers return a strong nucleus from last year’s 21-6 team after graduating just one senior. This year’s squad will consist of three seniors, three juniors, and six freshmen. With the addition of a talented group of players to the mix, depth will be an asset for this year’s team. Quickness and defensive intensity will be key. They will rely on strong guard play on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.

Kamdyn Hulse, a VYPE Top 100 player, leads the charge for her final high school season after averaging 20 points per game last year.

“Kamdyn Hulse is the complete player,” said coach Davis. “She is one of the best players in school history. Kamdyn is a very versatile player that can play all five positions on the floor. She is steady, smart and savvy. She is a fierce competitor and is one of the toughest athletes I have ever coached. Kamdyn is explosive offensively with unlimited shooting range and can create her own shot. She has an aggressive playing style and can take over a game. She is a consistent scorer and a great rebounder. She responds well in pressure situations and shows tremendous leadership through her actions.”

Other seniors that the team will look to are Meghan Meat and Neko Watson. The junior class features Cloe Hooten, Evalynn Blood, and Emily McEahern. The remainder of the roster is young talent in freshmen Kynzlee Hulse, Irilynn Jones, Taylor Martin, KJ Smith, Hayden Estrada, and Mackenzie Day.

Kynzlee Hulse, like her older sister, is a player to watch.

“Kynzlee is a promising freshman whose size (5’11) will create matchup problems for the opponent,” said coach Davis. “She is a guard/forward with tremendous length. She has unlimited shooting range on the perimeter and has a great ability to get to the rim. Kynzlee is a fierce competitor and I am excited to see she and her sister combine forces this season. The sky is the limit for Kynzlee.”

The team has high expectations for the season, it’s second season in Class B, and with all the right pieces in place, they certainly have a shot at a phenomenal year.
