Timberlake reloads in 2026 after an 11-2 season with a familiar face still leading the way. Veteran head coach Brian Severin enters his 36th year at the school and likes the talent level, even as the Tigers prepare to be young in several spots following graduation losses. The standard remains high for a program that expects to stay in the thick of the eight-man playoff picture, and Severin believes this roster has the ability to do that as it gains experience.
Offensively, Timberlake brings back just two starters and will again rely on a physical I-formation attack. Junior quarterback Bodey Thomas (5-10, 170) steps in as the new leader under center and will be charged with managing the offense and leaning on a committee of backs, with sophomore running backs Brody Wallace (5-8, 150) and Aiden Olson (5-9, 170) are part of that group. Senior end Gunnar Finney (5-9, 160) returns as a versatile threat on the edge, while sophomore center Logan Campbell (5-9, 200) anchors a youthful offensive line. The Tigers will emphasize downhill, assignment-sound football out of the I, asking their backs to run hard behind a line that should improve steadily as the season wears on.
The defense has a bit more experience, with four starters returning in a 3-2 base look. Thomas will be a key piece at linebacker, giving Timberlake a quarterback of the defense in the middle of the field. Campbell lines up at nose guard and is expected to control the interior, while Finney and Olson contribute in the secondary and at linebacker, respectively. The scheme is built on being sturdy in the box, fitting gaps and rallying to the football, which meshes well with the Tigers’ physical offensive identity. Depth and youth may lead to some growing pains early, but the staff believes the athleticism and effort are there for the unit to develop into a solid group by district play.
