POND CREEK-HUNTER PANTHERS
Head Coach: TANNER BOWMAN
9-4
After reaching the state semifinals in 2025, Pond Creek-Hunter enters 2026 with its sights set even higher. Head coach Tanner Bowman knows expectations are high, but he also sees a roster built to handle them. With a strong core of returning starters and a hungry group of underclassmen, the Panthers are focused on maintaining the standard last year’s team established while pushing toward a championship run. The mix of experience, leadership and competition has created an environment where every practice rep matters.
Offensively, the Panthers will continue to lean on a versatile spread attack that starts with a powerful run game. Quarterback Brady Schuermann (5-11, 180) returns after throwing for 718 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 667 yards and 13 more scores, giving the Panthers a dynamic dual-threat centerpiece. He pairs with do-it-all playmaker Kyson Davis (6-0, 180), who can line up at running back or receiver after totaling 192 rushing yards and 197 receiving yards with four combined touchdowns. Tight end Noah Crouch (6-1, 185) adds another weapon in the passing game after finishing with 234 receiving yards and four scores, while young quarterback/running back Tegan Cowherd (6-0, 185) gives the offense another versatile option who produced both through the air and on the ground. Up front, linemen like Ethan Stephens (5-11, 240) and Kayne Garcia (6-1, 260) help the Panthers control the line of scrimmage in their no-huddle, tempo-based system.
Defensively, Pond Creek-Hunter prides itself on aggression, versatility and relentless pursuit. Davis (6-0, 180) leads the way at safety after a monster season with 90 tackles, six interceptions and multiple impact plays in coverage and run support. Cowherd headlines the linebacker corps with more than 70 tackles, while Crouch provides edge pressure at defensive end after posting over 50 tackles and two sacks. In the trenches, Carlos Robinson (5-9, 270) is a force at defensive tackle, and Laker Easley (5-10, 195) adds another pass-rushing presence on the edge. The Panthers’ defense is built to create chaos, using multiple fronts, coverages and pressures to generate negative plays and turnovers. With standout leadership from Davis and a swarm-to-the-ball mentality, Pond Creek-Hunter expects its defense to fuel another deep postseason push.
