2026 Kingfisher Yellowjackets Football Preview – Presented by OrthoOklahoma

KINGFISHER YELLOWJACKETS

Coach: REAGAN ROOF

8-4

Kingfisher enters the 2026 season with confidence after finishing 8-4 a year ago, returning a veteran core under third-year head coach Reagan Roof. The Yellowjackets bring back their entire offensive line along with several starters on both sides of the ball, giving the program a strong foundation. While key players from last season have graduated, the coaching staff believes its younger players are ready to step in after a year of development.

Offensively, Kingfisher returns nine starters and will lean on a physical run game behind its experienced line. Roof looks for his team to establish the run to control the tempo, using multiple personnel sets to create balance and open up the passing attack. Junior Brett Calamateo (5-6, 165) will once again be a central figure, operating at quarterback/runningback after rushing for 668 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.

In the passing game, senior receivers Carter Stephenson (6-0, 175) and Brody Boeckman (6-0, 180) provide reliable targets. Stephenson recorded 24 receptions for 401 yards and three scores, while Boeckman added 22 catches for 276 yards and two touchdowns. Up front, seniors and juniors Taegan Pool (5-10, 240), Donovan Dunn (5-11, 270), and Briar Kester (5-10, 220) lead a fully intact offensive line that is expected to be the strength of the team.

Defensively, the Yellowjackets return six starters and will operate from a 4-3 scheme built on gap discipline and team speed. Senior defensive end Eduardo Dela Torre (5-10, 190), a VYPE Top 100 nominee, headlines the unit after totaling 61 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and multiple impact plays last season. He is expected to be a disruptive force again and could contribute offensively.

Calamateo also plays linebacker, where he recorded 32 tackles and two interceptions, while Boeckman returns after posting 64 tackles and five forced fumbles. In the secondary, Stephenson added 41 tackles with two interceptions, and senior Kaden Cline (5-10, 165) provides additional experience.

With a veteran line, proven playmakers, and emerging young talent, Kingfisher looks poised to build on last season’s success and make a deeper postseason run.
