KINGFISHER YELLOWJACKETS

Coach: REAGAN ROOF

5-6

OFFENSE

The 2025 version of the Kingfisher Yellowjackets brings a lot of promise and excitement to the field. They have some familiar faces, but will also need some guys to step up to help them make a playoff run. “We have several returning players at the skill positions,” said head coach Reagan Roof. “We will be inexperienced on the offensive and defensive lines. Depth will be an issue as well, we will need to stay healthy. We have enough playmakers returning to be a solid playoff team if we can find the right pieces in the trenches.” Leading the offense at quarterback will be Jhett Birdwell (6-2, 190, Sr.), who threw for 2,112 yards and twenty-two touchdowns last season. He also added 391 yards on the ground. Serving as targets for Birdwell on the outside are wide receivers Kasen Blair (6-1, 195, Sr.) and Jackson Willbanks (6-2, 195, Sr.). The duo combined for 1,098 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, and they look to pick up where they left off. Brett Calamateo (5-8, 155, So.), who had 245 rushing yards last season, will be back at running back, while Daxx Compton (5-11, 165, So.) will see time at both running back and receiver. Starting as a freshman on the offensive line, Donavan Dunn (5-10, 250, So.) is going to anchor the line and help keep the defense out of the backfield.

DEFENSE

The defense will work to keep their opponent out of the endzone and try to get the ball back to their offense. Linebackers Maurico Valles (6-0, 190, Sr.) and Brody Boeckman (6-1, 185, Jr.) are two outstanding athletes who are not afraid of hard work and hitting someone. Valles ended last season with 83 tackles, and Boeckman had 18 tackles. In the secondary, Carter Stephenson (6-0, 175, Jr.) and Hayes White (6-1, 170, Sr.) will be the defensive backs working to keep the big pass plays to a minimum. Kale Reagan (6-2, 215, Sr.) will work to be a disruption at defensive end.
