2025 Hennessey Eagles Football Preview – Presented by Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma

HENNESSEY EAGLES

Coach: MARK COX

6-5

OFFENSE

The Eagles will be looking for guys to step up and play bigger roles this season if they want to improve on last season’s first-round playoff exit. Head coach Mark Cox is looking forward to seeing what this team can accomplish. “Our team is very young this year,” he said. “But they are a talented group and have been working hard during spring ball. Our guys are hungry to build on the success that we had last year.” Leading the offense will be Mario Lopez (5-8, 150, Jr.) at running back. He has the speed and ability to make big plays for the team. Levi Ferrell will be at quarterback. He is a hard worker who holds himself and his teammates to a high standard. Another guy to keep an eye on is Hagen Copeland. “Hagen is going to be a big-time playmaker for us on both sides of the ball for the next few years,” Cox said. “The first time he touched the ball in a high school game last year, he scored a long touchdown. We’re expecting big things from him.”

DEFENSE

The Eagle defense will work to disrupt their opponents at each level. On the defensive line, Luis Macias-Montoya (6-0, 175, Sr.) will be a disruptor to the plans of the opposing offense. He should be a problem for the offensive line to have to deal with at defensive end. Titan Root is another lineman who will be a contributor for the team. He is a talented guy who loves the game of football, and it shows whenever he is on the field. Assistant coaches for Hennessey this season are Nathan Hill, Matthew Fuksa, Chris Rapp, Aaron Pitts, and Dylan Hatchel.
