ENID PLAINSMEN
Coach: BRAD CORNELSEN
2-8
OFFENSE
The Plainsmen opened the 2024 season with promise, securing back-to-back wins by a combined score of 92-31. However, momentum faded as the season progressed. Now, with a clean slate and renewed focus, head coach Brad Cornelsen and his squad are determined to bounce back and put together a strong campaign. Leading the charge up front is senior offensive lineman Luka Sears (6-3, 260), a smart, physical presence who will anchor the line and provide crucial protection. He’ll be instrumental in giving the offense time to operate. Another key returning contributor is junior Keon Young (6-3, 185), a versatile two-way starter who showed big-play potential as a sophomore and is expected to be a difference-maker again this fall. At tight end, the Plainsmen will lean on Cash Mathis (6-3, 235), a big, athletic target who adds another layer of versatility to the offense.
DEFENSE
Defensively, the Plainsmen aim to build off last season’s experience and become a tougher, more disciplined unit. Keon Young will take charge in the secondary as a defensive back, using his instincts and range to contain big plays and keep opponents in check. On the defensive front, Mathis and Sears will team up to bring pressure in the trenches. Their size, strength, and motor make them a formidable duo capable of disrupting opposing offenses and setting the tone for the defense.
