ENID PLAINSMEN

Coach: DERRICK IRVING

2024-25 Record: 10-13

Derrick Irving steps into his first season as head coach of the Enid Plainsmen basketball team after assistant coaching three years previously. He is excited about the prospects of the upcoming season.

“Coming off the transfer of six players leaving and three graduates, the Enid Plainsmen are reloading with the next man up! This young and scrappy group are ready to compete at a high level,” said Coach Irving.

The team will be led by returning starters in senior wing Julius Mitchell, a high motor athlete with the ability to dominate in the open floor, and sophomore forward Cashton Mathis, a big body forward with great touch and footwork. These two will bring experience and production to this squad, along with seniors Oke Mote, a quick and shifty do-it-all guard, Jaidyn Moulder, a Waukomis transfer with high level court vision and IQ, Jamarion Ellison, a versatile forward with a great feel for the game, and Paul Arakwon, an inside scorer with variety of footwork. Junior guards Javaris Williamson and Gordon Note will be tasked to provide offensive firepower. Junior forward Zyler Tipton will be an energizer for the Plainsmen this year. Rounding out the varsity squad are versatile sophomore wings Qa’im Butler and Jevin Fowler.

This team will be hungry for victory this season and ready to step up to any challenges that come their way.
