2025 Chisholm Longhorns Football Preview – Presented by Security National Bank

CHISHOLM LONGHORNS

Coach: CAMERON CONDER

6-5

OFFENSE

The Longhorns made the Class 2A playoffs last season but made a first-round exit. This year, they have a new head coach on the sidelines but a lot of familiar faces on the field. “We have lots of returning players from a playoff appearance team,” said new head coach Cameron Conder. “Things are looking good on both sides of the ball with lots of players who have Friday night experience.” The Longhorns have two playmakers back on the offensive side of the ball. Coming out of the backfield, running back Malichai Owens (5-10, 190, Jr.) looks to continue the pace he set last season with 1,500 yards rushing. He is a strong kid who knows how to find the open running lane. Wide receiver Brandon Todd (5-11, 170, Sr.) registered 40 catches for 490 yards a season ago, and he looks to have a bigger impact on the season. Maintaining things on the line will be offensive lineman Kaizer Derr (6-3, 280, Sr.).

DEFENSE

On defense, Chisholm will work to slow down their opponent and keep the big plays to a minimum. Jace Hennigh (6-2, 205, Jr.) is back at outside linebacker after totaling 80 tackles last season. He has worked hard in the offseason and is ready to continue to be a key player for the Longhorn defense. At middle linebacker, Colin McVay (6-0, 205, Jr.) has a keen eye and does a great job of finding the ball and getting to it. Defensive backs Blake Thompson (6-0, 185, Sr.) and Todd will work to wrangle the receivers. Assistant coaches this season are Rick Luetjen, Dalton Stafford, Kyler Freeman, Beau Biggers, Nick Barker, and Mark Frye.
