Waynoka’s Brylee Beck – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Northwest Technology Center

Waynoka High School junior Brylee Beck is proving that dedication and balance can take you far, whether she’s competing on the track, leading in student council, or creating digital art at Northwest Technology Center in Alva.

Brylee is a talented track and basketball athlete who thrives on competition. “What I enjoy most about competing is winning and making friends,” she said with a smile. One of her favorite moments came during her freshman year when she won Regionals in women’s high jump, an achievement she still remembers proudly.

Through it all, Brylee says her faith has been her strongest foundation. “Jesus has got me through every second without a doubt,” she shared. Her positivity and gratitude shine through in everything she does, both in sports and academics.

In addition to athletics, Brylee is active in Student Council and the National Honor Society, where she continues to develop leadership and teamwork skills. But her learning doesn’t stop at Waynoka, she also attends Northwest Tech’s Alva campus, where she’s part of the Digital Design program.

Her interest in Tech started early. “I first heard about Tech when I went on eighth-grade tours, and my sister influenced me to go,” Brylee explained. “We both wanted to learn how to design.” Now studying under Mrs. Schanbacher, she’s building creative and technical skills that she’ll carry into the future. “If someone’s considering Tech, I’d tell them to take Digital Design with Mrs. Schanbacher,” Brylee said. “She makes it fun and engaging.”

Beyond creativity, Brylee says Tech is preparing her for life after high school in practical ways. “I’m learning problem-solving, teamwork, time management, and communication, all things that will help in any career or future education path.”

After graduation, Brylee plans to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she hopes to major in psychology or special education. With her strong faith, hard work, and heart for others, Brylee is designing more than graphics, she’s designing a future full of purpose and possibility.
